Journal of International Medical Research and Health Sciences (JIMRHS) is employing a Review Tracking System to assess the standard of a manuscript before it published. Once a researcher submit their manuscripts, it's screened thoroughly to check the originality, validity, and significance to assist the editor to determine whether the manuscript should be published within the journal or not.

Each manuscript is checked for plagiarism, and assessed carefully to figure out if it fits the aims and scope of the journal. If it does, the editorial team will assign a minimum 3 potential reviewers to peer-review the manuscript and make recommendations. And if it doesn’t fit the aims and scope of the journal then the editorial team will reject the manuscript.

Upon submission, authors are encouraged to submit names of reviewers who they consider appropriate to review their paper. Authors can also indicate persons to whom they don’t wish the manuscript sent for review. The reviewer’s selection are made on the impartiality, expertise, and equal distribution among the available experts, negligent of geographic origin of the manuscript or locations of the reviewers.

Editor will decide how peer review will be conducted and peer reviewers selected.

Single-blind peer-review: In a single-blind review, reviewers are aware of the authors’ identity, but authors are unaware of who reviewed their paper. While this method serves to decrease chances of bias or conflict of interest, there is a probability that disclosing the author’s identity could influence the review.

Double-blind peer-review: In a double-blind peer review system both the peer reviewers and author are not aware of each other’s identity.

Other forms of Peer review process

Open peer review: In an open peer review, identities of both authors and reviewers are known to all. This system allows the authors responses and peer reviewer comments to be published along with the final manuscript.

Post-publication peer review: Some open access publications adopted a new approach to overcome the limitations of traditional forms of peer review is the name suggests, in this type of review, reviewers evaluate a manuscript after it’s been published on an open access platform. Here, the identities of reviewer and author are known (published). This system allows reviewers to take credits for their reviews.

JIMRHS reserves the right to make the final selection of peer reviewers, to determine the number and kind of manuscripts sent for review, the number of reviewers, the reviewing procedures, and the use made of reviewers’ opinions. In addition to scientific merit, the Editor-in-Chief/Editor reserves the proper right to assess papers without external peer review. All effort is made to complete the review process on time.

Editorial Review Policy:

Editorial Chief Editor inspect first screening of all submitted documents like manuscripts, cover letters, texts, figures, charts, tables and annexures submitted for publication in the Journal. This first screening includes ensures of reference style, within the scope of the journal, basic science relevance, basic structure viz: abstract, keyword, introduction etc. For any necessary changes, authors are intimated about the requirements for the change. After relevant changes are made then authors need to resubmit the required documents.

If the manuscript doesn't meet the specified standard or if it's out of the scope and will be rejected. If the manuscript passes those above screening, provisional acceptance would be sent and therefore the authors would be asked to submit a vouching certificate or written declaration by an appropriate doctorate relevant to the topic of the manuscript that the manuscript is an ingenious work of the author and fit the international publication which editor takes a personal responsibility for the original research work. This provisional acceptance does not guarantee complete acceptance because the comments from the subsequent referee must be rectified by the author.

Apart from this procedure, the manuscript would be subjected to double blind peer review process during which doctors, researchers or highly experienced individuals in the field of research, academic would be selected for peer review. Many other reviewers of the Journal (Inclusive of advisory editorial board member) would be selected to review the manuscript. They have the right to decline suggestion if there's any conflict of interest with reference to the topic matter of the manuscript. On Acceptance the manuscript will undergo for the review process.

After proof corrections are done by the author on the ultimate version (Preprint Proof) of the manuscript, the manuscript is formatted as PDF files for publication. We try our greatest to see review screen the manuscript from submission till publication and any time if the manuscript is found defective in its content of the author etc., then rectification/explanation would be requested from the author and if inappropriately rectified/explain, then the manuscript would be hold from publishing.

In the case of a provisionally accepted manuscript, requests are made to author to send a written declaration from a suitable doctorate of that field to send a declaration vouching that the manuscript is authentic and original .This doctorate person shouldn't be any of the author of the manuscript. This declaration supports the originality of the manuscript alongside our referee and reflects the author’s credibility. After proof corrections are done by the author the ultimate version of the manuscript is formatted as HTML, PDF files for publication.
